Dr Sandro Voi (they/them)
Dr Sandro Voi, DClinPsy, MSc, BSc | Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Associate
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, working in both private practice and academia. When offering therapy, I strive to be non-judgmental, compassionate and warm. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where both you and I come together to mutually agree on your goals for therapy. I take special care to be aware of the intersections in our identities such as gender, ethnicity, race, sexuality, neurodivergence and ability levels. I also value being receptive to your needs and aim to help you navigate any difficulties you are experiencing and come out the other side.
In terms of therapeutic approaches, I work integratively with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) being my main modality. Other approaches that I often use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), and Systemic Therapy. As a psychologist, I am aware of the benefits of therapy as well as the limitations of science and psychological theories. As such, I approach theories with a critical and pragmatical stance, adapting my clinical work and keeping in mind your values, experiences, and wellbeing at all times.
I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, shame, bereavement, neurodivergence, autism, relationship difficulties and family strain. My main areas of expertise are in working with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity (GSRD). I am also a published researcher in scientific journals regarding my affirmative research on the sexualities of trans and non-binary people.
In addition to my work in private practice I am a Senior Lecturer at University of Hertfordshire where I also completed my doctorate. I have worked in the NHS sector including primary and secondary care as well as specialist services and third sector organisations. I am now settled in London, working both in person and online.
