Dr Suzanna Chojnacki, Chartered Psychologist

Dr Suzanna Chojnacki (DPsych, MSc, BA) is a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Associate at Harrison Psychology Group, London

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist currently working both within the NHS and private practice. At the heart of my practice is cultivating a warm and kind relationship with my clients that allows them to feel heard, validated and respected. Along side this, I aim to help them develop a deep and practical understanding of their struggles and a focus on the steps needed to make change and feel better.

I have expertise in working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, stress, burnout, health issues, trauma, low confidence, self criticism, bereavement and family strain. I additionally have a particular interest in exploring sex, sexual health and sexuality. I have worked extensively and affirmatively with LGBTQI+ communities.

When working with clients, I aim to provide a space that is respectful of individual differences and ways of living. I work sensitively and inclusively, considering how a person’s ethnicity, race, gender, religion, sexuality and/or gender identity might play a role in the ways that they are struggling. I welcome your uniqueness and will work at a pace you feel comfortable with.

In therapy, I utilise an integrative approach and believe in staying in tune with people’s individual needs. I encourage people to separate themselves from the problems they live with and to view distress with compassion. I work with people's experiences, skills, and values, as well as provide them with techniques informed by a number of therapeutic models. These include Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Systemic Therapy.

I was raised in Sweden to a Polish family and moved to the UK at a young age. Growing up in a migrant family afforded me the privilege of a better understanding of diversity of experience and identity. I have a particular interest in exploring the impact of minority stress, and broader contextual factors, on a person’s wellbeing. I work with individuals at all stages of their lives and have experience and interest in sexual health and gender identity. I undertook my training at the University of East London, where I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist. I am registered with the HCPC. I am able to offer therapy fluently in English, Swedish and Polish.
